Back for Another Year
Hey Everyone
I arrived back in Cape Dorset for another school year on the 20th of August. Summer is so short and by the feel of the weather today it is even shorter here. At Peter Pitseolak School all the staff from last year is back except we have a new principal but Ed was here the past 2 years as a grade 11 teacher so I am sure he knows what to expect. Some of last years staff shuffled around to new teaching assignments and we have new grade 8 teacher, Cecil, but he was here last year teaching at Sam Pudlat School. I think we are going to have an awesome year just with the fact that I am more knowledgeable about what to expect. We had our first regular day of classes on Friday and everything went peachy.
I had an excellent supper of char last evening compliments of Ed, Chris, and Leona. Very tasty indeed. It almost feels like I never left the Miramichi.
Some of us went out for a "boil-up" this afternoon which was excellent. How could a menu of teabuns, lassie toast and bread, teabuns, balogna, beans, and tea get any better. We walked out towards a sandy beach where the waves were breaking on the rocks just like I have seen in pictures of Peggy's Cove. It was all really nice getting back in the groove of doing some walking. Over the last year there are not a lot of places I haven't discovered in Cape Dorset but this was one of them. I will post some pictures later.
Well I must get back to the tube as I am watching the NASCAR race from Bristol .
Till Later

Dear Blake,
I am writing from Madison Elementary School in Warsaw, Indiana. I am looking for a first grade class to correspond with in the North Pole. My class of first graders is going to be learning about students from places with different climate, culture and surroundings. Would you be interested in corresponding with us?
If you would, please email me at mbyers@warsaw.k12.in.us
