Phone Troubles and Beach Pictures

Hey Everyone
Is anyone in the north reading this having any problem with their telephone. Our line has benn really staticy(?? is that a word) and then sometime in the night goes dead. If there was any emergency I would have a real tough time receiving a call or placing one. The local phone repairman was in the other day and said to try another phone of which I did but it hasn't seemed to make a difference. If anyone has or is having such problems please post. It is a quiet night here in Cape Dorset. The first full week of school has almost come to an end and things have gone very well. Classes seem to be excellent but I do know it is early. They will certainly try to test this sophomore before the year is out. As promised in an earlier post, I am going to upload a few pictures taken last weekend out at the beach.Note the neat rock formation. Just a little more information on my telephone problem. I was just called my wife and between loads and loads of static she said she had called me 3 times this evening. She said the phone rang and rang but no one answered and I was home all evening. I guess maybe the problems worse than expected.

Cheers for now
Blake

Back for Another Year

Hey Everyone

I arrived back in Cape Dorset for another school year on the 20th of August. Summer is so short and by the feel of the weather today it is even shorter here. At Peter Pitseolak School all the staff from last year is back except we have a new principal but Ed was here the past 2 years as a grade 11 teacher so I am sure he knows what to expect. Some of last years staff shuffled around to new teaching assignments and we have new grade 8 teacher, Cecil, but he was here last year teaching at Sam Pudlat School. I think we are going to have an awesome year just with the fact that I am more knowledgeable about what to expect. We had our first regular day of classes on Friday and everything went peachy.
I had an excellent supper of char last evening compliments of Ed, Chris, and Leona. Very tasty indeed. It almost feels like I never left the Miramichi.
Some of us went out for a "boil-up" this afternoon which was excellent. How could a menu of teabuns, lassie toast and bread, teabuns, balogna, beans, and tea get any better. We walked out towards a sandy beach where the waves were breaking on the rocks just like I have seen in pictures of Peggy's Cove. It was all really nice getting back in the groove of doing some walking. Over the last year there are not a lot of places I haven't discovered in Cape Dorset but this was one of them. I will post some pictures later.
Well I must get back to the tube as I am watching the NASCAR race from Bristol .

Till Later
