Attention Dog Lovers
Hey Everyone,
As I was walking out to the park today and I snapped a picture of something that caught my eye on the long weekend when we ventured out for a boil up. No one was
really sure what the skin was from. Some people thought it was a bear, others thought it was a wolf, but to me the colour wasn't right for either of these. Therefore I took it upon myself to see just what it was. Apparently it was the hide of a big beautiful Newfoundland dog that got stricken with distemper. I guess there is a use for everything.

While we are on the subject of dogs, I guess the circle of life goes on and on here in the north. Take a gander at these beautiful pups.

Aren't they beautiful, and thats coming from a person who certainly isn't a dog fancier.
13 more sleeps and I will be on my way home.
Cheers for now
Blake

Hi...coming from a dog lover who has brought both of my huskies up to Rankin for my work this summer, both of whom are from rescue situations. have seen a whole variety of different situations with the dogs from well treated to not.last night when walking i came across a shed with 5 puppies curled up in the corner but dead obviously a victim of the blizzards here this winter. have also had discussions in Arctic bay about dog mitts and other clothing. But I have also seen dog teams well cared for dogs and there is one fellow here in Rankin with no dogs of his own but has gone around the town and run others dogs just so they get exercise. Feel very fortunate that am house sitting for some teachers who have dogs and I could bring my own.
Have a good summer south!
