Attention Dog Lovers

Hey Everyone,

As I was walking out to the park today and I snapped a picture of something that caught my eye on the long weekend when we ventured out for a boil up. No one was
really sure what the skin was from. Some people thought it was a bear, others thought it was a wolf, but to me the colour wasn't right for either of these. Therefore I took it upon myself to see just what it was. Apparently it was the hide of a big beautiful Newfoundland dog that got stricken with distemper. I guess there is a use for everything.




While we are on the subject of dogs, I guess the circle of life goes on and on here in the north. Take a gander at these beautiful pups.






Aren't they beautiful, and thats coming from a person who certainly isn't a dog fancier.

13 more sleeps and I will be on my way home.

2 More Weeks of Classes

Wow

Has the the year ever flown by. I can't believe how long ago my last post was. With only 2 more weeks of classes and a week of exams added onto a couple of sessional days at the end of the year, the school year is rapidly coming to an end. The weather has seemed to really turn around and the flights in an out of Cape Dorset are becoming more frequent and regular. We are hosting our second elder night of the year. We are going to have to make a conscious effort to have them more often next year. They seem to really enjoy them. The other news is that I moved to another part of the town. It is way more convenient because of the proximity to most of my colleagues and also the fact that it is like having my own place and only paying half the rent. I moved on the 28th or 29th of April, I am not sure which, but the guy I share the place with has been over in Hall Beach since then. I talked to him the other night and he said he should be back by the 27th of May. The place is much brighter than my last place, seems bigger, but on the other hand I pay less rent so it must be a little smaller square footage wise.
I will try to post some pics later.
